![]() I'm currently at 273 CR "Higher" Paragon 6) and that results in a 13% Damage Increase to Monsters and a 11% Decrease to damage taken from Players. I can therefore only use the numbers I have, and I am nowhere near certain it is accurate. 5/5 Blood Soaked Jade Grade 1)Ĭombat Rating is a little harder to calculate because CR is based on a % boost above challenges at your level. a 2/5 Gem in the same slot.Ĭombat Rating Difference (2/5 vs. Math would then apply for the same rough differences if they acquire Resonance at the same amount per each upgrade beyond Grade 1 (but I don't know this for certain).Ĭonclusion: Difference is 3.5% increase to base attributes on equipped items per 5/5 Gem to base attributes from Resonance vs. Math works out like this:įull set of 2/5 Gems: 30 Resonance * 0.05 * 6 = 9% Stat increase.įull set of 5/5 Gems: 100 Resonance * 0.05 * 6 = 30% Stat increase Difference between the 2/5 and 5/5 Gem is therefore a boost of 3.5% (70*0.05) of your base attributes.Īssuming the same math having 6 5/5 Gems vs 6 2/5 Gems would give you an additional 21% to stats at Grade 1 (assuming no diminishing returns from Resonance as it increases). My understanding is that 1 Resonance is about 0.05% increase to base attribute on all equipped items (I have 285 Resonance and that give me 14.25% Increase so 14.25/285 = 0.05). I believe all 5/5 Gems give the same Resonance, but I could be wrong on this as well. Bonuses otherwise appear the same based on the wording and numbers (again, I am uncertain if they vary at higher grades). It appears the difference on the face of both Gems is 70 Resonance and 12 Combat Rating (2/5 gives 30 Resonance and 12 CR and the 5/5 gives 100 Resonance and 24 CR). Lets get into it and see what we are dealing with. I have not observed anyone break down the actual formula for these stats, and so I can only assume (based on the information I have) that it is a simply 1 Resonance = So much % Increase and not a complex formula where Resonance (or CR) loses effectiveness the higher you go. I am also assuming that there is no "diminishing returns" on the formula to either Resonance or Combat Rating. ![]() If I am wrong on this - then that would need to be another discussion with more detailed calculations. I am assuming here that the two Gems get increases to their stats at the same rate between Grades and so the end result will largely be the same in terms of comparison. Unfortunately, I do not know if there are other differences at Max Grade for the Gems as I do not have that information. Stats in games like this are king and everything else is just window dressing. I am assuming this is what actually matters and not that "I have to max/complete my character" nonsense. I am therefore able to compare them and see if I can actually pin down the difference in the numbers. Someone posted elsewhere a Screenshot of a 5/5 Blood Soaked Jade. Question I want to ask is then: Will the Whale that buys a full set of 5/5 Gems for god knows how much money be God-tier to match the investment? However, I have not seen an actual break down of if these Gems are actually worthwhile or if they will tip balance to any considerable degree. Reader Beware.Įverybody is getting up in arms about the 5/5 Gems situation (Cost, Rarity, etc.). I am doing a very limited analysis of one factor, and it does not give the whole picture. Original Post below, but please keep this in mind as you read. We are talking about a 200% boost to base equipment stats with that Resonance at the very least. Stats at this level are absolutely insane. ![]() On my own Server, Doombringer, on closer inspection there are at least a half dozen players with in excess of 3000 Resonance and one player with over 4500 Resonance. 2/5 Gems yields EXPONENTIAL Resonance returns which are an effective 0.05% boost to all stats per point of Resonance. I had initially thought it was curved in some fashion to not get to crazy values. Once these gems are upgraded the Resonance factor becomes insane. HOWEVER: It has become clear to me this is a VERY limited picture. ![]() I want regular players to try to put into perspective whether this is something they actually want to stress over getting. It is strictly to compare the baseline for Grade 1 2/5 Gems and 5/5 Gems. NOTE ON EDIT: I want to make clear that this analysis is not all encompassing. ![]()
